How do Chiropractors view health?

We believe that health comes from within, meaning your body was created to be a self-healing self-regulating mechanism created to function at 100%. When you remove stress to your nervous system your brain and body can communicate fully allowing you to function as you were created to do!

What should I expect during my first visit in the office?

Your first visit is one of the most important visits in the office, you will meet with Dr. Herndon and her staff and they will discuss your health history and health concerns as well as to conduct a thorough chiropractic exam. You will be fully clothed during all parts of the exam, it is best to wear comfortable clothing during your first visit.

How much will my first visit cost?

At Generation Chiropractic we want to remove any hesitation or obstacle you may have when it comes to learning more about the benefits of Chiropractic care, therefore we offer a complimentary consultation and exam with our doctor. This allows you to ask questions, get answers, and get to know our office and staff before you commit to care. Any further costs will be discussed with you before any treatment is rendered so that you can make the best decision for you.

How much does a regular chiropractic visit cost?

The price for an adjustment varies depending on several factors including, insurance coverage, the type of adjustment needed, and how many areas of the spine are treated. The cost of care will be discussed with each patient prior to beginning treatment. We offer several types of payment options so that everyone interested in receiving care is able to afford to do so. If you have questions concerning finances we encourage you to set up an appointment to meet with Dr. Herndon and discuss the cost of future care with our office

Do you take insurance?

We try to work with most insurance plans including Medicare. We strive to use billing codes that are considered acceptable and necessary for each individual insurance plan.

If you do not have insurance, we offer affordable office visits and therapies. If your insurance does not cover chiropractic care, you can use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) to pay for services with pre-tax dollars.

In addition to health/medical insurance, we are experienced in dealing with auto insurance and personal injury insurance companies on ongoing complex claims. We will be glad to check your insurance benefits during your first visit for no additional charge, just bring in your insurance information and we will do the rest!

Is chiropractic care for kids?

A young spine, with few exceptions, usually develops perfectly by the end of pregnancy. It’s what happens around the time of birth, and in the months thereafter, which can sometimes upset the normal functioning of the spine. Spinal segments can be pushed out of place or jammed by the position of the baby in the womb, or can suffer similar problems during labor from the trauma of the process through the birth canal, or from the birthing process itself. Medical research has identified the fact that many problems early in a child’s life can come from birth trauma (See “‘KISS’ Syndrome” in Dynamic Chiropractic, 6/3/94)

Spinal problems can also occur as a result of the frequent falls suffered by young infants in the first months of life. A fall from a bed, a sudden stop in an automobile, or any significant unsupported movement of the head and neck in an infant can induce excessive movement in the spine causing vertebral subluxations (spinal misalignment). At the other end of the spine, the act of learning to walk, and the number of simple falls encountered during infancy, can induce trauma to the lower spinal segments and to the large sacroiliac joints of the pelvis.

Dr. Herndon uses a safe and gentle technique when assessing and adjusting a child’s spine, and she is more than happy to discuss any and all treatment options for your children during your time in the office!

What can I expect on my first visit?

During your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a short form with your general information, health history, and current health issues. This information will assist Dr. Herndon in making an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

You will then be taken through a thorough examination, which includes posture analysis, range of motion testing, orthopedic exams, and a comprehensive Spinal Thermography exam.

Once the exam is completed Dr. Herndon will give you her most accurate recommendations for future care.

How long is an appointment?

Unlike many chiropractic clinics, we don’t require patients to change into gowns for treatment. We realize that our patients are busy and are on tight schedules so we strive to create an office atmosphere that is relaxing and easy-going, while running efficiently to provide service without delays to get you back to your schedule, usually within 10 to 20 minutes.
